Nature’s Paint

While some artists prefer to stay with their favorite mediums, others are continually on the search for new and unusual pigment sources. Many plants offer natural pigments, and have become the base for commercial paints sold in stores, though these also contain a lot of chemicals. If you would like to get back to basics, try tea as a natural paint. With the variety of teas available, you can have a colorful palette from which to work. It’s time to get creative, but remember this – even though you’re painting with your favorite beverage, the brushes and paper you’re using can transfer particles into the tea, so please don’t drink it when you’re finished!
