What’s Brewing Tonight: The Lone Ranger

0

We all grew up knowing the story of The Lone Ranger. Childhood wouldn’t have been the same without it! One year ago this month, another theatrical version of this story was released. Armie Hammer plays John Reid, aka the Lone Ranger, whose group of Rangers was ambushed while tracking a band of notorious criminals. The only survivor, John, was found and nursed back to health by Tonto, an amicable Indian played by Johnny Depp. Depp’s quirky style of acting added a humorous touch to this film, something past Lone Ranger movie or television releases did not have.

If you listen hard enough, animals will talk back to you

Tonto made John a leather mask to conceal his identity from Butch Cavendish (played by William Fichtner), the leader of the gang who tried to kill him, and the Lone Ranger was born. He sets out to avenge the death of his brother, one of the murdered Rangers, with Tonto following along unwittingly. Together, they discover Cavendish is actually involved in a much larger criminal act, and they have to work as a team to bring justice to the land.

What teas would pair best with a movie such as this? Smoky, earthy teas that remind you of the wild land the Lone Ranger and Tonto inhabit! Try Adagio Teas’ Lapsang Souchong, with a clean, sweet smoky flavor. Teavivre offers a Keemun black tea that many say has a light smokiness to it, if you aren’t sure whether or not you’ll like a bold smoke. For an earthy flavor, try Seven Cups’ 2013 Little Rose Puer Black Tuo Cha. It has a lighter flavor, perfect for those new to pu-erh.
