Southern Sweet Tea

Kick off the summer with an updated version of an all-American favorite: Southern Sweet Tea

Traditional Sweet Tea is a thirst-quenching Southern staple and an icon of southern hospitality. Common recipes call for Luzianne tea bags tossed in boiling water, covered and sweetened with a simple syrup while the tea is still hot. Once the tea reaches room temperature, the pitcher of tea is refrigerated and later served over ice. For a little something extra, a bit of lemon, orange or raspberry is added as a garnish.

But why not kick your summertime favorite up a notch with a high grade loose leaf tea? Every hot tea can also be enjoyed iced, and the flavor possibilities are endless. You can even create your own blends by combining teas and tisanes.

If you want to learn how to make real Southern Sweet Tea from the best, check out the version handed down to Clayton Christopher, founder of Sweet Leaf Tea Company, by his grandmother here.
