Steeped in Chocolate

If you visualize hot tea steeping in a chocolate teapot, your mind immediately turns the teapot into melted goo, correct? Maybe not! One experiment in the town of York (North Yorkshire, England) turned that assumption upside down. Scientists created a teapot using dark chocolate with at least 65% cocoa solids, making layers with the help of silicone molds. The purpose was to design one that could withstand boiling water for 2 minutes of steep time. Though there was a bit of melt, the chocolate mostly stayed inside the teapot when the liquid was poured out, giving the tea just a slight hint of chocolate flavor.
