Teas to Soothe the Busy & Active Voice

It’s arguably the most common question in the pantheon of culinary culture: Do you prefer coffee or tea? In my case, my preference is tea. Hands down. I’ve been drinking tea since I was a small child. Iced tea was the family drink of choice growing up at the dinner table and still is to this day.

In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever had a full cup of coffee. Not that I needed much to get me going as a kid, but regardless of whether the coffee was regular or decaf, I never cared for the taste anyway. Although tea is still my customary beverage of choice as an adult, I now prefer multiple teas that carry health benefits that tremendously improve the quality of my life.

Here are some of my favorites:

Twinings Green Tea BoxTwinings Green Tea (non caffeinated):
This is the most common form of tea I drink. The benefits of green tea (as opposed to regular tea) are endless. It has polyphenols, including the bioactive epigallocatechin gallate, which has been said to improve brain function, and can reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
I have esophagitis, and this tea helps alleviate my symptoms. Though some prefer sugar or even stevia, I use honey in my tea. I switch it up this flavor occasionally and go with the Jasmine as well.

Yogi Kava BoxYogi Kava Stress Relief, Perfect Energy, Throat Comfort:
Running a sports and entertainment website along with some of my other ventures can be remarkably stressful. To complicate matters, I have an underactive thyroid, so the perfect energy naturally energizes me without feeling like I just drank a bottle of soda.
Although I try to eliminate virtually all forms of caffeine in my diet, a little every now and then is ok. Kava stress relief calms my nerves, which isn’t easy to do. I also do some commercial voice over work, which can result in many alternate takes with your throat taking a severe beating. Drinking the Yogi throat comfort certainly makes that job easier by not making me feel like I just recorded the same commercial 20 times!

Traditional Med BoxTraditional Medicinals Organic Echinacea Plus:
Because of my immune system issues, the echinacea plus ensures my immune system stays on track if I feel like it’s venturing off.
I keep late hours, and the feeling of being run down and beat up can sneak up on me and take its toll.

Twinings Peppermint BoxTwinings Pure Peppermint Herbal Tea:
I primarily use peppermint tea if I ever have stomach issues. However it also helps support weight loss, aids in stress, skin problems, and is a natural decongestant for sinuses.

Experiment with different teas to see what you prefer and research your teas. Good luck!
